This miniature drawing shows a highly detailed view of the medieval skyline of Ghent in Belgium. From left to right you can see St. Bavo's cathedral (which houses the famous Ghent altarpiece), the belfry and St. Nicholas' church. The slender tower between St. Nicholas's and the three steeples of St. Jacob's church on the right is of the old post office. Ghent must be one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is a true architectural gem.
